This show is open to ALL Registered Morgans, proof of registration & copy of 2007 Coggins is required. All out of state horses MUST provide copy of a Health Certificate dated within 30 days of the show. Horses from Canada MUST provide copy of International Health Papers dated within 30 days of the show. Proof of rabies & distemper vaccination required for all dogs on grounds. See dog policy for further requirements.  Handlers of stallions over the age of 2 yrs. must be 18 yrs of age or older.  All fees are listed on the Entry Form.

NOVICE CLASSES

For the purposes of our show, Novice Person or Novice Horse means the individual person or horse has not won more than three blue ribbons in that specified discipline in a class with 6 or more entrants.

HIGH POINTS

Morgan, Full Lippitt Morgan, Junior Exhibitor (17 & over) & Senior Exhibitor (18 & over)

All classes eligible for the four above high points, excluding Sweepstakes.  Handlers MUST be listed at time of entry to be counted for exhibitor high points.

JUSTIN MORGAN VERSATILITY AWARD

Open to all Registered Morgan Mares, Stallions, & Geldings.  This award is earned by competing in four events.  The age appropriate in-hand class, a predetermined riding or driving performance class, the log pull class (55) and timed trot class (77).  Classes denoted with ** are eligible as the performance class for the JMVA.  An attempt must be made in each event to qualify for points.

Horse check-in:  All horses MUST be stalled.  Fairgrounds prohibit the tying of horses to a trailer All horses MUST be visibly checked prior to being unloaded and/or placed in their stalls.  All stalls are ASSIGNED.  You will be given your stall assignment when you check your horse in upon arrival.  If you use a stall, you must pay for it.  NO EXCEPTIONS

Dog Policy: Dogs MUST be leashed at all times or secured within an enclosure (stall, kennel, trailer, etc.)  Dogs (excluding service animals) are NOT allowed in the arenas or other warm-up areas.  Dogs may NOT be tied in the doorways or aisles. Owners are liable for any and all injuries or damages caused by their animal.  Any dog on the grounds MUST have proof of rabies and distemper vaccination, we require a copy of the vaccination records for our files. Non-compliance with the above policy may result in the impounding of said animal and issuance of a fine up to $150 per incidence.
Grounds  & Barn Rules:
1) No parking of carts or carriages in the aisle ways or blocking any exit door.  Aisles MUST remain clear of tack/tools. 
2) All entry doors must be left UNLOCKED once animals are on the grounds.  Main aisle doors shall remain open unless inclement weather or loose horses force them to be closed during the daytime hours.  10PM - 6AM they shall be closed, but not locked.
3) Lights out in the barns by 10PM unless pre-arrangements are made with the grounds managers.  They need to sleep too!  Any. one using lights in the barns after 10PM are responsible for shutting off the lights when they leave the barn. No exceptions!
4) All buildings at Jefferson County Fairgrounds are SMOKE FREE.  This means NO smoking in the barns or the arenas!!  This includes a 15' clearance around any barn or other area containing or covered by hay, straw, shavings and/or manure.  Or any other flammable substance.
5) Camping in designated areas only.  No Campfires allowed without permission.

Please note:
Re: Security Issues

There will be at least four members of the show committee on the grounds overnight along with a veterinarian.  One of them will be walking through the horse barns a few times during the night.  We have asked the local Police to add extra patrols on the grounds for those evenings.  We strongly recommend bringing a lock & chain for your equipment stalls just to be safe.  The show & grounds will NOT be responsible for any lost items.
